NFL Week 5 Rankings: New York media letting us down
Gotta hand it to the 1,383 daily newspapers, 83,980 TV stations and countless Web sites in the Big Apple. Along with ESPN, all those cats forgot to tell us that the New York Giants were any good.
Hell, some of them even forgot to tell us the Giants were still playing football.
That's the only reason I can understand why the defending Super Bowl champs were ignored up until the last two weeks. Granted, I guess averaging 32 points a game versus your opponents' 12 really isn't that big of a deal.
Shameful, New York media. Shameful.

NFL Power Rankings (Top 10):
- New York (4-0) -- Are you ready for a bloodbath? A Monday Night Bloodbath? Browns won't know what him 'em.
- Dallas (4-1) -- Cowboys better put their big-boy shoes on for game against Arizona this week.
- Tennessee -- (5-0) -- Second-hottest team in football needs to avoid rushing Vince Young back into lineup.
- Washington (4-1) -- For some reason, Jason Campbell reminds me of Trent Dilfer.
- Pittsburgh (4-1) -- Big Ben taking a long breather after getting roughed up at Jacksonville.
- Carolina (4-1) -- Combined score of last two games: 58-9.
- Denver (4-1) -- Nice bounceback game after disgusting loss against Kansas City.
- New England (3-1) -- Like the Giants, how soon we forget. Eventually, Matt Cassell was going to figure out how to get the ball to Randy Moss.
- Buffalo (4-1) -- Bills weren't exposed against Arizona. There's just no way Kurt Warner was going to lose after spending 8 days away from his husband, Brenda.
- Indianapolis (2-2) -- Peyton Manning got bored playing a whole game. It's not written in his contract he throws the ball left-handed until the fourth.
Getting Ready for the 2009 Draft (Bottom 5):
- St. Louis (0-4) -- If only Rams fans could get rid of Scott Linehan. Oh, wait.
- Kansas City (1-3) -- Can we just extend bye week through next August? This is painful.
- Detroit (0-4) -- At what point does Jon Kitna decide he just isn't good?
- Cincinnati (0-5) -- Dare I say Cincinnati is the best 0-5 team we've seen in a long time?
- Oakland (1-3) -- At least Al Davis isn't ruining a once-proud franchise by appointing a coach who once coach college ball in Idaho.
